Introduction — CFA Reports
Long-form reports and Federal Register pipeline documentation for the Center for Federal Accountability.
Purpose
This site holds reports and technical documentation supporting the Center for Federal Accountability (CFA). Content is authored in this repository, published through Documentation.AI, and may be exposed on federalaccountability.com under a configured subpath (for example /reports) via Cloudflare.
What you will find here
- FR proposed rules (public comment) on this Documentation.AI site: Report types, FR Proposed Rules tab — hub, current dockets, and archive. This is the primary public surface for proposed-rule stats, lists, and per-docket detail (and CFA draft text when the pipeline export is used).
- Supporting context pages for methodology and source references where they improve interpretation of customer-facing reports.
- Audience personas for Documentation.AI Dimensions / Views (agency, privacy, fiscal, constitutional, civil liberties, general).
- Material is written for clarity and auditability: sources, scope, and limits are stated explicitly.
Voice
CFA speaks with institutional authority and adversarial empiricism: precise language, primary-source grounding, and no rhetorical padding. See the repository STYLE_CFA.md author reference for the full style guide aligned with the main CFA site.
Repository
Source: cfa-reports on GitHub (TrevorLowing/cfa-reports). This repository publishes the customer-facing FR Proposed Rules reports and related reference pages.
Layout: documentation.json lives at the repository root (required for Documentation.AI’s Git integration). MDX pages sit under docs/; navigation paths in that file use the same docs/... prefix as the filenames (without the .mdx extension).
GitHub → Documentation.AI sync check
If publishes are wired to main, this stamp should match the latest deploy: 2026-03-22 (includes FederalRegister agency sync, external PDF/HTML sync (EOs, OMB, OPM), and run_report.py on a local database; full SORN run_sync may be run separately when you need a complete FR document refresh).
Documentation.AI rebuilds when cfa-reports is pushed to GitHub. FR Proposed Rules pages are refreshed from the latest approved data snapshot for this site.
